Long time quiet, but still not dead

Ok, here comes the post!
I was unable to write for some time, because I found an interesting job with some possibilities to combine it with studies, so I made some sites and configured a whole server. But, as I found, this is not kind a work I like.
This work can give money to advance, to feed yourself, but I want to... You know! Booom! Headshot!

Proactol is making me a salary!

Month ago I started a secret mission to gain some money from Web. As I've found some articles on affilate marketing, I got deeper into the problem and started my own site, which is selling Proactol - well-known diet pill.

And what is hot?

Only few days ago I've found that my affilate marketing sponsor, who deal with money-making and selling great books online, started a great competition on selling proactol. Those bloggers who sell some of this product get a great bunch of money.
So, I'm started thinking on other site (great concept and original articles) to get another piece of new-year-pie.

Ok, while making my bachelor work I was thinking about earning some money with affiliate marketing. This is simple, you register at affiliate marketing associate program and then advertise some thing on your site. If someone buys something you recommend than you get your 40 cents. (Joke :-)) You get some per cent which depends on your status or flat fee.
Looks simple enough. I thought this way too. I register myself a LinkShare account and approved this site. But there was no click first day, and no clicks other day, and whole week passed without a click! I searched through the Net and found that LinkShare is old and stable merchant, but their promotions for affiliate marketing aren't the best.
And than another question was bring alive:

What is the Best Affiliate Program For You

Affiliate networks are the middle man between affiliates and web sites with affiliate programs. Look for affiliate networks that provide all the tools needed to set up and maintain an affiliate program. What to Look for?

As I check the analytics page, this blog have got some professional readers that are checking it from time to time. There are no any news on my MCSA Certification, because as I passed the course on Windows 2003 Server (70-270) I understand that without preparation it is heavy to pass this exams.
While waiting on another courses - Windows XP Desktop Administration - this time, I collect some usefull links. Some of them are links to my friends pages, but banners are great offers to take a start. For example, RapidFAX offers you a beautiful gate between faxes and email, which can be very usefull if you want to check out some business action, but are not sure is fax-machine will be necessary.
I label this post as a routine, but it isn't so. This label is places only because it doesn't count on post summary and doesn't follow the main blog theme of "Becoming MCSA".

Why become MCSE specialist?

The next article is answer to a question "Why is it good to become MCSE specialist?" Did you asked yourself this way? Did you analyzed how much time and money will it cost you to pass all the exams on your way to the MCSE certificate? Feel free to comment this article, I am writing for all the people who have several similar questions that I have.

In the years of the dot com boom and bust, the Microsoft MCSE Certification has gotten its eye blackened over an over. Paper Microsoft MCSE's who were excellent at finding brain dumps and passing exams gave the Microsoft MCSE Certification a bad name. What used to be a guarantee of a nice salary is now ridiculed in some ignorant circles. After working in the Information Technology field for twelve years I still believe the Microsoft MCSE Certification is worth every dollar you spend and every hour spent in study and practice. I'll share my history with the Microsoft MCSE Certification and why I still believe it's a valuable certification credential.

My History: Pre Microsoft MCSE

When I started out as a PC LAN Analyst I wanted to someday run my own shop. The best way I felt to get there was to study for the much sought after Novell CNE and Microsoft MCSE Certification. Because I worked in a Novell environment and had no opportunity to work with Windows NT I started on my Novell CNE Certification. I went book by book purchasing them on eBay and reading while I worked a second job. The CNE was also an easier certification to get as the answers to the exam came direct from the books. Microsoft's MCSE Certification exams tend to generalize on the concepts from the books rather than the text verbatim. Once complete with the CNE I had a full understanding of Novell's File Server and their weak attempt at a firewall/web server. I understood archaic technologies like IPX and Token Ring as well as networking technologies used today such as Ethernet, and TCP/IP I at least had enough knowledge to perform well at my job and work as an IT Consultant where I formed my own business Gall Consulting which runs today as a successful income.

After getting my CNE Certification I finally got a job running my own show. I had one Novell 3.12 server which ran the entire company. Within a year we began to work with Microsoft Windows NT 3.51 and NT 4.0 was just on the scene. I began the lengthy study of the seven Microsoft MCSE exams. When I had completed the Microsoft MCSE certification a year later I was like Yoda around the job. I had a complete set of knowledge about Windows Networking and Windows Applications. Because I completed the entire set of Microsoft MCSE exams and coursework I knew the technology and the theory behind the technology. This led to high performance as a Senior LAN Administrator. Rather than a swiss cheese education I had a thorough understanding of Microsoft Windows technology and could adapt to new situations easily.

NT 4.0 to Windows 2000 MCSE

When Windows 2000 Server and Active Directory was released we faced a problem. My small Novell to small Microsoft NT Domain, had grown to a world wide enterprise with five domains including various trusts going everywhere. DNS was handled by our UNIX group and we had to find a way to learn a new technology, create a single corporate Active Directory Domain and use Dynamic DNS on our Windows Active Directory domain controllers yet co-exist with our UNIX administrators who were none to happy to have to share DNS. Faced with this challenge I returned to what worked in the past. I studied for the Windows 2000 MCSE Certification

As I did before I started at the beginning and worked my way through each course and exam until I had completed my Windows 2000 MCSE Certification. By now I had a great career as an IT Operations Manager and no one was going to hire or pay me extra just for getting my Microsoft MCSE Certification. This is the true value of the certification. It started as my drive to obtain career credentials and became a vehicle to ensure I had an entire breadth of knowledge that would let me take on monumental tasks. Needless to say, today we have a single corporate Active Directory domain with a few sub domains necessary for DMZ areas.

Our DNS works so well the UNIX group asked us to take over and we're able to build on Active Directory as a source of valuable corporate data. My point in this article is to look at the Microsoft MCSE Certification as a way to ensure you have all the knowledge rather than just what's necessary in the short term. Knowing why something works is much more powerful than knowing just enough to build it in the first place the coursework involved in the Microsoft MCSE Certification provides this. I can say without fail, EVERY Information Technology professional I've worked with that had a Microsoft MCSE Certification performed at a MUCH higher level than those who only had on the job experience or had only studied what they needed to complete their daily tasks.

Preparing Microsoft Certification Tests - Step by Step

Microsoft Certifications are one of the most widely pursued and acclaimed professional certifications in the IT industry. Preparing MS certification tests, however, is a significant undertaking whether you're just out of college or have been in IT field for years. IT professionals are continuously demanded to acquire new knowledge in order to perform well on their jobs as new technology in the IT industry emerged at a pace that has never been seen before. Regardless what certifications (Microsoft Certified Professional or MCP, Microsoft Certified System Administrator or MCSA, Microsoft Certified System Engineer or MCSE ) you are pursuing, a thorough planning will increase the chance of success.

1. Pick the Right Certification

There're two questions to answer while pursuing a MS certification:

a) Whether a particular MS certification helps the long-term and short-term goals of your career path. If your passion is in IT consulting, MCSE certification is likely more valuable than a MCSA certification, which may help you land a system administrator job at companies which are MS shop.

b) Whether you have both sufficient knowledge and hands-on experience to pass a series of tests for the certification. The real value of hands-on experience is to prepare you for the job, not just to gain a certification.

3. Consolidate Knowledge with Training

The value of hands-on experience can not be replaced with studying sample certification tests, and systematical knowledge of a particular subject can't be replaced by hands-on experience either.

Use of Computer Based Training software is a very effective way to speed up your Microsoft certification preparation. For instance, many companies offer vendor-co developed CBT or Computer Based Training for IT professionals to have a comprehensive understanding of Microsoft products and practice.

4. Take Sample Exams

Once you have both systematical knowledge and hands-on experience of Microsoft software products, you'll still need to know the format and style of certification test questions to perform well in the exams. Use of sample tests and braindumps will often further improve your test score.

5. IT certification exams.

Microsoft certification exams, like other major IT certifications - Cisco, Oracle etc, are administered by independent testing organizations at major cities worldwide. Registration can be done online or via phone. More important than anything else is to relax and have a good night of sleep before the actual test date.

Terribly out of everything last days: this X-mas stole away all my money, I get ill for 3 weeks, I lost my job. So now I have plenty of spare time, but no any possibility to write here. It's so unusual to tell anyone what do you think.

Hello everyone!

Speaking about slumps in my life, I've never felt so much like a bottom feeder than now. I have little to no money. My job it the biggest pain in the ass for the money that I make. Student loan payments will be coming soon. I actually want to do something to better myself. I decided I want to become a PC technician, complete with as many certifications as I can get. A+, Net+, Cisco, MCSA, MCSE, etc. I want to be able to do what I've always wanted to do. I don't want to tell people that I sling pizzas for a living.

So, I have decided to start my bloggin on the theme of becoming professional from a scratch. All comments will be apreciated.
